<p><strong>Answer to Readers Question</strong>: It is simple, yes you do have to show proof of who you are with some form of identification i.e., drivers license or birth certificate  because the insurance company needs to certify who you are. You need to sign the death claim paperwork and provide a your father&#8217;s dead certificate and it cannot be a copy.</p>
